Dr. Momoko Kitada

Associate Professor, World Maritime University

Momoko Kitada is a former seafarer and joined WMU in 2011 and serves as an Associate Professor as well as in the Secretariat of the WMU Women’s Association (WMUWA) since 2014. She has 16 years of research experience in women in the maritime and ocean sectors. Dr. Kitada teaches subjects in Maritime Education and Training (MET) as well as social and human factors of Maritime Energy Management (MEM). She is a co-principle investigator of the project, “Empowering women in the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development” endorsed by the UNESCO-IOC. Dr. Kitada also works with the IMO’s regional Women in Maritime Associations (WIMAs).
