Captain Bill Kavanagh is a Senior Lecturer in Nautical Science at the National Maritime College of Ireland, Munster Technological University. After a worldwide seagoing career of 20 years including 8 years in command, he worked with the Irish Sea Fisheries Board and established the Regional Fisheries College in the South-west of Ireland. With 20 years’ experience in Nautical Science, he specialises in ship simulation, meteorology, ship stability and human factors. He is a Master Mariner, holds a BA (Hons) degree in Training and Education, a Master’s degree in Adult Learning and Development and is a Fellow of the Nautical Institute.
